Welcome

Kate Kozitza, M.D.  is a physician with a private practice in Lynn.  She is running for State Representive of the 8th Essex District, representing Marblehead, Swampscott, and a part of Lynn.  Kate understands that small businesses are the backbone of Massachusetts.  Kate wants to keep these businesses here, not drive them away with excessive regulation and taxation.  Kate believes that until we fix these problems, economic recovery for average citizens and small businesses simply will not happen.  "I am running for state representative because the culture of shameless taxation and spending has to end.  If elected, I will serve as a citzen legislator, not a career politician.  I pledge to bring my strong work ethic and common sense to Beacon Hill, and honor the trust placed in me to represent all my constiuents." -Kate Kozitza

Local Issues

"I would like to thank the voters of Marblehead for their fiscal responsibility.  Voters were asked to cough up tens of millions of dollars in money in addition to the existing budget.  All ten overrides were defeated--A sure sign of the times.  People are fed up with being asked to fund things when so many are finding it hard to even make ends meet. The message should be clear by now to tax and spend legislators, including my opponent. The taxpayers are being squeezed and are not going to tolerate out of control government spending during such difficult times for so many. Local and state governments need to make due with less, just as families and small businesses are being asked to do. I will be proud to represent you, the taxpayers."-Kate Kozitza
